User Account Settings

User Account Settings control how Actualog looks and behaves for you personally across all companies and communities you participate in.

What you can manage here

Profile

Your profile is your “identity card” in Actualog:

  • display name and avatar
  • professional details (role/skills)
  • languages you work in
  • links (optional) for credibility and collaboration

Tip: keep your profile complete if you want to be discoverable in communities (experts, engineers, buyers).

Languages

Actualog supports multilingual product information. In your account you can typically:

  • choose your UI language
  • select preferred content languages for reading/editing
  • enable/disable auto-translation features (if available in your plan/workspace)

Best practice: set a primary language you edit in, and add secondary languages you review.

Notifications

Notifications help you stay current without constantly checking pages:

  • updates to products you follow
  • changes in categories/templates that affect your data
  • invitations and access changes
  • workflow/audit alerts (where enabled)

Best practice: keep “high-signal” alerts on (permissions, workflow failures, key product updates) and reduce everything else to avoid noise.

Emails

Your email preferences control:

  • which system emails you receive
  • how often you receive digest-style updates (where enabled)
  • transactional vs informational messages

Social links (optional) increase trust and simplify collaboration, especially in expert communities.

Communities

This is where you manage your community participation:

  • communities you joined
  • your visibility/searchability (where available)
  • community-specific preferences (where supported)

Companies

This is where you manage your company memberships:

  • which companies you belong to
  • switching the active company workspace
  • invitations and roles (depending on permissions)

Invitations and access

Actualog uses controlled access for companies and (optionally) for community roles. Invitations can grant:

  • membership in a company workspace
  • permissions/roles inside that company
  • access to private catalogs or internal workflows

Best practice: accept invitations only if you understand which organization is granting access and what scope it includes.

Security recommendations

Use modern account security hygiene:

  • enable multi-factor authentication whenever it’s offered by your identity provider/org policy (Microsoft recommends MFA, including phishing-resistant options for sensitive roles). ([learn.microsoft.com][2])
  • avoid forced periodic password changes unless compromise is suspected (NIST guidance does not recommend routine periodic password changes for memorized secrets). ([NIST][3])

Where to go next

If you’re new to Actualog, the fastest path is:

  1. Getting Started → Onboarding (first setup)
  2. UI Reference → Dashboard + Company Workspace
  3. Products → Product overview → New product / Import
  4. Categories → Templates / Dictionaries / Validation
  5. Catalogs → Publish a showcase or sales/procurement catalog
